AllCare Pharmacy in Arkadelphia serves residents in Long-Term Care Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities and Correctional Facilities -and has been doing so for over 40 years. Job Description

Staff pharmacist duties include assisting Pharmacy Manager with the onboarding process of new hires, training staff to manage customer orders efficiently while always maintaining professionalism and ensuring pharmacy compliance with federal and state regulations. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Answering phones or making calls to assist facility staff and to receive verbal prescription
orders needed for patients

Occasionally assisting Entry Technicians with prescription order entry if needed (this is
not a primary responsibility)

Initial Review (PV1) of prescription orders entered

Final Review (PV2) of all packaging platforms (i.e., pill bottle, blister card, multi-med card
and strip pouch style)

Delegating specific tasks to pharmacy technicians and follow up to verify tasks are
completed to standard

Obtaining Immunizer Certification and providing this service to customers and
employees when needed

Teach and train staff proper adjudication technique to prevent loss of revenue to the
company

Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting
therapeutic incompatibilities

Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.

Organize and direct the technicians' workflow, verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and verifying order entries and charges (adjudication) are correct

Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health
care professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies

Maintains records for controlled substances and removes outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Must be willing to help coverage of other shifts when needed

Reading Employee Handbook and enforcing the standards within it (i.e., dress code, cell
phone policy)

Being available to come in after hours or at times when needed outside of regular work
schedule

Supervising and evaluating performance of the pharmacy technicians daily

Responsible for making sure drug recalls are handled appropriately

Managing inventory (purchasing specific drugs from designated suppliers to maximize
profitability using SureCost)

Creating a climate of professionalism/genuine concern for patient wellness and needs of facility caregivers especially when communicating directly with facility staff. Rudeness will not be tolerated

Coordinate deliveries and utilizing AllCare delivery staff whenever possible versus courier services

Checking the contents of narcotic and ER boxes, after technician replenishes, before they are available to dispense

Performing any other assigned tasks not listed above (i.e., REMS programs, etc.)

Schedule

Monday through Friday 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm with 1 hour lunch. Saturday rotation is 8am-5pm with 1 hour lunch. Consistent schedule with opportunities to work extra to help cover PTO days for other pharmacists.
