Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing all functions of plant maintenance, primarily focusing on production equipment and preventive and predictive maintenance. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as the overall facilities of the production plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Perform shutdowns, startups, and cleaning of equipment.
    • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.
    • Perform preventive building maintenance duties, including routine plumbing and electrical repairs.
  • Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:
    • Diagnose issues to prevent loss in efficiency and reliability, achieving scheduled production goals.
    • Assist in root cause analysis for critical control points (CCP) and non-CCP equipment failures.
  • Production Monitoring:
    • Monitor and adjust production flows, rates, temperatures, viscosity, and line pressure.
    • Troubleshoot minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
  • Record Keeping and Communication:
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records, ensuring documentation is filled out accurately, in detail, and on time.
    • Communicate and work effectively with all levels of employees within and outside the maintenance team.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all Food Safety and Employee Safety policies and procedures.
    • Recognize and mitigate hazards in the work environment.
  • Support and Collaboration:
    • Assist other Maintenance Technicians during breakdowns, line maintenance, and equipment upgrades.
    • Assist sanitation with the assembly and disassembly of equipment.
    • Maintain a clean and orderly maintenance shop and workstation.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Leads, Supervisors, or Managers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Understanding of trades related to building maintenance and repair.
    • Familiarity with a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques.
    • Proficiency with machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for building maintenance and repair.
    • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to read and follow blueprints and assembly instructions.
    • Proficient in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
    • Skilled in using hand and power tools.
  • Communication:
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate through email and/or radio calls.
  • Adaptability and Teamwork:
    • Willingness to assist all departments in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the entire facility.
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and departments.

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of building maintenance experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance and repair, including but not limited to bucket elevators, chain-vey conveyors, bin dumps, pasteurizers, roasters, and color sorters.

This is a first shift position - 6am - 2:30pm (some OT may be required.) During harvest (August - October) they will work 7 days a week/12hour shifts. Start time varies each harvest, so not sure what that would look like.
Pay range - $22.50 - $23.50/hr DOE
Bilingual preferred, not required.
