Job description

As the Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality assurance and food safety within our dairy product manufacturing facility. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our quality management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

My client is a fast growing company within the food manufacturing industry. They package and distribute their fresh products to stores and customers worldwide.

Description

The responsibilities of the QA Supervisor are

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure the production of safe and high-quality dairy products.
  • Lead and manage a team of quality assurance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the execution of quality control processes.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes, equipment, and facilities to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and procurement, to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics, such as product specifications, defect rates, and customer complaints, to identify trends and implement preventive measures.
  • Manage the documentation and record-keeping processes related to quality assurance activities, including SOPs, batch records, and quality reports.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to dairy product manufacturing and quality assurance, and implement relevant updates as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, customers, and third-party auditors during inspections and audits, ensuring compliance and addressing any issues or concerns.

Profile

A successful plant quality assurance supervisor candidate must have

  • 5+ years of experience in a QA supervisory or QA management position
  • Experience managing in a food manufacturing environment
  • Commitment to teamwork, a positive attitude, and hardworking
  • Good understanding of all continuous improvement production techniques
  • Trained in OSHA requirements or expectations, HACCP, First Aid/CPR, and Food Hygiene
  • Knowledge of large-scale food business start-up
  • Able to be onsite daily M-F in Los Angeles, California
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Not for New York City Applicants.
