Job description

We are seeking a committed and passionate expanded learning instructors to change the future of students by leading academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our team. As a inclusion specialist instructor, you will lead and mentor up to 10 youth in an expanded learning setting. Pay rate: $25/hour

Hours per week: 20 hours, plus PD

Minimum Requirements:

Some experience required

Ability to reliably commute to Oakland

Commitment to education equity and leadership

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

1 year experience working with students with special needs

Preferred:

Commitment to a full school year

Ability to practice open, clear, and consistent communication and commitment to participate in professional development.

Knowledge of de escalation strategies, behavior management, behavior plans, and teamwork to support whole child

Experience in being able to read and understand IEP's/504's

Responsibilities:

Support and maintain the emotional well-being of the students

Provide a safe environment

Assisting management/leadership with children that are experiencing behavior issues, social/emotional distress and high functioning SPED students

Assist with the day time school connection/communication

Be an integral part of the "whole child" philosophy and supporting guardians

Assist with behavior plans and enforcing them during program hours

Ability to be a part of team meetings regarding said children
