Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
The Perioperative Services Nurse Educator is accountable for managing Staff Development, continuous Quality Improvement and Medical Staff orientation programs for Perioperative Services. Assesses needs, counsels and evaluates performance of new OR staff, and participates in the orientation of nursing and medical students, house staff, and visitors to the Operating Room environment. This incumbent is required to cover all locations including Orange DH,OSS and Irvine ACC, GHEI.

Required Qualifications:
Required to cover all locations including Orange DH,OSS and Irvine ACC, GHEI
Must possess the skill, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Experience in research, research utilization projects, and/or advanced clinical practice
Experience in and knowledge of quality improvement processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated understanding of emergency procedures
Demonstrated teaching/education/in-service skills with the ability to lead effectively
Demonstrated proficiency in administrative tasks using current technology
Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
Demonstrated nursing experience in the acute perioperative setting
Demonstrated leadership skills
Demonstrated knowledge of Title 22, TJC (The Joint Commission), CMS,and CDC guidelines in an acute care setting
Demonstrated independent judgment and decision making skills
Current California RN license
Basic knowledge and understanding of anesthetic drugs and monitoring needs
BSN or an equivalent combination of education and experience
BLS Required
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications:
PALS
MSN Degree
Experience in adult education
ACLS certification upon hire
