Job description

Senior Tax Manager- Family Office Clients

Responsibilities:

  • Act as point of contact and relationship manager for client, family, and outside service providers.
  • Manage outside service providers (e.g. attorneys, investment brokers, clients' employees), including coordination of activities such as drafting documents for personal estate and entities, coordinating loan documents with lenders, and payroll for clients' employees.
  • Meet or exceed client expectations by demonstrating creativity in developing integrated solutions utilizing a broad range of services including tax, estates and trusts, insurance and risk management, and philanthropy.
  • Ensure tax compliance (filings, extensions, review of tax returns for client and related entities) for accuracy on material issues.
  • Successfully resolve through research and analysis complex tax issues and proactively discuss issues and alternatives with client.
  • Manage existing client revenue through review of work in progress and preparation of billings for special projects/consulting services provided by the client.
  • Manage complex engagements through the ability to schedule multiple tasks simultaneously in order to complete a deliverable in a timely manner.
  • Develop internal and external (attorneys and brokers) networks to form strong working relationships with the goal of growing and generating new business opportunities and agreements.
  • Proactively communicate and discuss impact of technical tax matters, and communicate to clients tax changes, implications, and potential impact to their financial strategies and goals.

Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field; CPA or Master's in Taxation
  • 7-10 years experience working with individuals, fiduciary tax issues, investments, financial and estate planning, and philanthropy.

Skills:

  • Strong client service orientation and technical skill set, problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
