Job Summary:
This is not a remote position.
Split role in reporting to the Business Manager and the Controller
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk with experience using Paycor and basic knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing payroll, and management of each Paycor module, assisting with light AR/AP duties, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
The ideal candidate works well within the structure of confidentiality and the classification of information and documentation, has excellent attention to detail, a strong understanding of payroll practices, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and review payroll for all employees using Paycor, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Maintain employee records related to payroll, including timecards, deductions, and benefits
Verify hours worked, wages, and deductions
Prepare payroll related reports and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and resolve discrepancies
Assist with basic Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable tasks as needed
Prepare and distribute invoices, process payments, and maintain AR/AP records
Support finance and HR teams with payroll related tasks
Ensure payroll and accounting data is securely maintained and up to date
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Paycor experience is MANDATORY for this role.
Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or similar role
Proficiency in using Paycor for payroll processing
Basic understanding of AR/AP processes and procedures
Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
Excellent organizational and time management skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication skills to interact with employees and other departments
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus)
Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience with Paycor.
Experience with basic AR/AP
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar) is a plus
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
Work Environment: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Exclusively office-based role
