Job description

Description The AV/VTC Systems Support Engineer will be responsible for designing, installing, upgrading, configuring, operating, and maintaining a variety of communication systems within the N&NC HQ. These systems include Unclassified/Classified/REL Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems, Audio/Video (A/V) systems, VTC Multipoint Control Units (MCU), Virtual VTC Bridges, desktop VTC systems, conference rooms, satellite television/broadcast systems, and services. The role requires a commitment to excellence, the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and a high level of clearance to handle sensitive information. Availability for 24/7 operations support during exercises, real-world events, and contingencies. Physical ability to interact with technology in conference rooms and manage equipment installations. Participation in ongoing professional development and certifications as relevant to the job role. Key Responsibilities: Conduct monthly preventative maintenance for all Command and conference rooms to ensure full functionality. Identify deficiencies and report to the Government through the Help Desk ticketing system, complete with recommended corrective maintenance actions and timelines. Respond to urgent requirements and non-standard duty hour issues, providing 24/7 support during exercises and contingencies. Ensure a maximum one-hour response time for off-duty VTC support if on-site troubleshooting is required. Keep the Customer informed about incident status and resolutions. VTC Operations: Operate, configure, maintain, and monitor all scheduled Top-5 NIPRNet/SIPRNet VTCs. Provide feedback on issues to the Government Service Owners. Monitor and update all N&NC Service Desk Incident and Service Requests related to A/V and VTC to ensure Quality of Service (QoS) and minimal downtime. Prioritize tickets based on severity and escalation criteria. Design, install, configure, operate, and maintain COTS software and Government furnished A/V and VTC hardware. Continuously monitor vendors for recommended hardware/software version upgrades and provide options and solutions to the Government Service Owner. Participate in weekly A/V and VTC Working Groups to provide input, comments, and track support and closure of projects and maintenance. Control System Programming: Provide on-site qualified control system design, hardware support, and programming. Upload all relevant programming code and documentation to the approved N&NC repository. And provide conference support by managing schedule, set up, configure, operate, and support conference rooms for various events as directed. Perform operational checks and basic troubleshooting of all relevant equipment. Assist with event-specific requirements such as furniture placement and microphone/camera setup. Manage and operate the N&NC community antenna television (CATV) system. Provide Tier 1/2 support. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field with 2 years experience, or equivalent work and/or military/experience in lieu of a degree. Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI Previous experience with A/V and VTC systems and IT support. Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and within a team. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Not required but preferred: any Crestron Programming training or certifications. Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors. SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline. Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
