The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is the integrating element of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense and combatant commanders at strategic, regional and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to collectively see the battle develop, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks, integrates and synchronizes autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is an integral part of all system ground and flight tests which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities. Job Responsibilities: Perform use case development, and prepare systems engineering artifacts including definition of Epics and Features under the direction of the Engineering Support ART to be developed by program Cross-Functional Product Teams to implement customer-requested capabilities Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, system engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews Provide use case development support to junior systems engineering team members to enhance use case skills in the department Have the ability to be flexible to support various tasking on short notice. Work will be performed under the direction of the ART, various product owners and require interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available. Responsibilities include adhering to DOORS processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working level counterparts on an as-required basis. The Systems Engineer will be actively involved in the efforts associated with Agile development including iteration planning, statusing, and agile team leadership. Required Skills: Must possess an understanding of systems engineering process and principles A proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions Experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g., specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, etc.) Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to communicate effectively, and clearly present technical approaches and findings The ability to write and implement engineering plans within a project Relevant experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, and specialty engineers to develop solutions that includes a background in all aspects of the systems development life cycle Should have demonstrated contributions to implementation that includes the ability to analyze high level needs and defined a structured and logical approach to refine the capability into an integrated set of requirements that led to a fielded product Desired Skills: Experience working within an Agile development environment Domain experience with both Space and Missile Defense Experience with Systems Analysis, Metric Development, MBSE and Architecture development
