Controller

Location: Hartford, CT
Start Date: Next week
Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Full-time, in-office with potential for hybrid upon permanent hire)
Pay Rate: Up to $57/hour ($120K annually)

Temp-to-Hire Opportunity due to an upcoming leave

Position Overview: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join their growing finance team. The Controller will oversee accounting functions for multiple locations, including Connecticut and Chicago, and play a key role in financial reporting, reconciliation, and automation efforts. Key Responsibilities of the Controller:

  • Manage accounting operations for two locations, overseeing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
  • Provide support as backup for AP and AR when needed.
  • Perform manual and automated reconciliations, with a focus on streamlining processes.
  • Handle journal entries (JE) for payroll, banking, and treasury functions.
  • Prepare and analyze financial documents, including business reports, forecasts, and statements, to monitor the financial health of the company.
  • The Controller will assist with ongoing financial transitions as the company grows through acquisitions.

Qualifications of the Controller:

  • Must Have:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
    • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
  • Plus:

    • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience managing staff and overseeing accounting functions.
