Swank Center for Memory Care and Geriatric Consultation at ChristianaCare is looking for a part-time Administrative Assistant.

Swank Center for Memory Care and Geriatric Consultation at ChristianaCare is located at 501 West 14th Street in Wilmington, Delaware. Swank Center for Memory Care and Geriatric Consultation at ChristianaCare is Delaware's first and most comprehensive outpatient office for patients with memory disorders and their families. Approximately 19,000 people across Delaware are coping with Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder. The Swank Center for Memory Care and Geriatric Consultation offer patients and their families essential support, education, and guidance from diagnosis through treatment.

As an administrative assistant you will support the Swank Memory Care and Geriatrics Chair, Medical Director, and Geriatricians, effectively communicating with all levels within Christiana Care System using written and verbal skills.

Work Schedule:

  • 20-hour work week, requiring flexibility.
  • Monday through Friday anywhere from 8am to 4:30pm

Duties & Responsibilities:
You would be involved in coordinating patient flow activities in the front office, including scheduling appointments, coding and entering information into the Practice Management System, and ensuring patient information is current and correct. Completing the care management registration process, verifying medical records, answering calls, and generating encounter forms. Collecting program fees, documenting payments, notifying physicians and clinicians of requests for consults and emergency appointments, and preparing patient monthly reports. Collecting clinical data to update the EMR Centricity, Soarian, Power Chart & Chronicle Program, and performing scanning and indexing. Confidentiality of patient/member and staff information is maintained, compliant with HIPAA regulations. You will need to demonstrate proficient communication skills, a sound knowledge base of departmental and hospital guidelines, attends staff meetings, and reports any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations to the supervisor in a timely manner. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to departmental safety rules and practices.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Four years progressively responsible administrative support to an administrator or manager.
  • Medical receptionist or medical assistant degree preferred
  • Three years' experience in a medical office setting preferred
