ASL Interpreter Washington, DC Responsibilities: Provide quality ASL-spoken English interpretation in a timely manner. Maintain adherence to the RID Code of Professional Conduct: CPC - Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (rid.org) Support managing the ASL interpreting schedule and reports to various customers Mentor and review work of novice interpreters Services will be rendered in a highly technical environment as part of a contract team supporting NAVSEA at the Washington Navy Yard. Support will be delivered as a mix of in-person and virtually, with potential for domestic and foreign travel. Looking for full-time or part-time Requirements: BA/BS Degree in ASL Interpretation 5+ years experience as a currently RID Certified interpreter working in a fast paced, technical settings. Strong voicing skills Experience with solving difficult, complex ethical problems involving consideration of multiple issues and job areas US Citizen with Secret Security Clearance Preferred: MA/MS Degree in ASL Interpretation 5+ years of working in a Business/Government setting with highly complex technical jargon All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
