Network Administrator- Junior
Customer: USAF
Clearance: Secret or TS/SCI required to apply
Location: Eglin AFB, FL Duties:
Researching and developing solutions to issues that arise as part of daily operations.
Assisting with developing new solutions to keep the network evolving and forward looking.
Provide Tier 2 and 3 supports for network testing and operations.
Manage network - including, routers, switches, firewalls, servers, CUCM, and VOIP phones.
Creating documentation and diagrams for all projects as well as all network modifications.
Attending meetings to discuss the status of projects and changes being made.
Maintaining firewall policies with multiple vendors.
Identify and explore training opportunities that benefits both the lab and operations center.
Working with outside agencies for resources, quotes, and training.
Address security STIGS and determine how to make devices and configurations compliant.
Work in a Hyper-V environment to help maintain servers related to network management.
Working with datacenter network technology including Nexus switches and vPCs.
Maintain and develop changes involving firewalls, routers, switches, TACLANES, Solarwinds,
GEM One, and Hyper-V. Required Skills:
One (1) to three (3) years' experiences as a Network Administrator configuring, operating,
and maintaining small-to-medium sized networks and IT infrastructures.
Practical experience providing exceptional customer service supporting networked devices.
Practical experience researching and developing solutions to issues that arise as part of
daily operations.
Practical experience developing new solutions to keep the network evolving and forward
looking.
Practical experience or training providing Tier 2 support for networked systems.
Practical experience or training managing network local test environment including, routers,
switches, firewalls, servers, CUCM, and VOIP phones.
Practical experience or training maintaining and developing changes involving firewalls,
routers, switches, TACLANES, Solarwinds, GEM One, Hyper-V. Required Clearance:
Must have a current Secret or TS clearance.
Must be able to obtain a DoD TS/SCI-eligible clearance (i.e. DCID 6/4 eligibility); and
applicant must maintain clearance in active/valid status.
Clearance investigation close date can't be older than 5.5 years at the time of application.
Must be willing to submit to, and be able to pass, a CI polygraph. Required Certification:
Active / valid DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II certification (Security +); applicant must maintain
currency of same. Preferred Qualifications:
Practical experience creating documentation and diagrams for projects as well as changes
made to the network.
Practical experience communicating findings and project status to high-level personnel.
Practical experience maintaining firewall policies.
Practical experience coordinating with outside agencies for resources, quotes, and training.
Practical experience with the Hyper-V environment and helping to maintain servers related
to network management.
Practical datacenter network technology experience to include Nexus switches and vPCs. Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen.
Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling
to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.
Due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be
required.
Work Environment, Equipment, and Machines:
Office setting that includes sedentary physical effort. However, may include lifting of weight
up to thirty (30) pounds
No unusual hazards nor unusual environmental conditions on job site
The DoD and USAF have implemented specific COVID-19 mitigation measures and contract
employees must comply with established guidance.
Ability to operate office equipment such as personal computer, printer, copy machine,
telephone, fax machine and other equipment including desk supplies and other workrelated
tools as required. Attendance:
This position supports an operational work center providing 18 hours/day coverage during
the standard Monday-Friday work week. Shift work may require on a rotational or
permanent basis as determined by mission needs.
Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for
deadlines and meetings.
Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines.
Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission
requirements. Other Essential Functions:
Must be willing/able to work assigned shift on rotational and/or permanent basis.

Independent personal transportation to work site is required.
Travel to / from customer locations may be required to support projects. This may involve
airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary.
When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no
cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
