Job Qualifications:

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Site Manager to join our dynamic team. This hands-on position is ideal for a candidate with extensive experience in supply chain management and related fields. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field is preferred; however, we place a higher emphasis on practical experience than on formal education.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Hands-On Storeroom Setup and Management: Take the lead in creating, setting up, and managing new storerooms, including organizing shelving, bins, and storage locations for optimal efficiency.
  • Stock Management: Oversee the purchase of new stockroom items to align with operational requirements.
  • Active Shipping/Receiving: Engage in hands-on shipping and receiving processes, ensuring all materials are accurately processed and accounted for.
  • Order Expediting: Lead efforts to expedite orders and maintain open communication with stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Cost Savings Initiatives: Actively source and search for cost-saving opportunities throughout the supply chain.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, managing key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess their performance.
  • Financial Issue Resolution: Address accounts receivable and accounts payable issues effectively to support smooth financial operations.
  • Project Generation and Leadership: Initiate and lead projects aimed at improving supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Inventory Management: Regularly review minimum and maximum inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
  • Warehouse Optimization: Identify and implement strategies for warehouse optimization to enhance overall operations.
  • Advanced Order Entry: Handle advanced and complex order entry processes with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Inventory Flow Management: Monitor and manage inventory flow throughout the site to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Cycle Counting: Conduct regular cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity.

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Department of Energy (DoE) Security Clearance, providing necessary information to verify eligibility for access to Controlled Unclassified Information related to U.S. Department of Defense or Energy programs.
  • 5+ years of staff management experience with a proven track record of team leadership and effective people management practices.
  • Strong ability to build and cultivate customer relationships.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a demonstrated understanding of manufacturing applications relevant to Vallen products and services.
  • Solid financial and business acumen, with the ability to interpret and manage profit and loss statements effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the technical aptitude to learn company-specific software applications.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in a temperature-controlled environment; must be prepared to handle occasional exposure to extreme heat or cold conditions
  • Comfortable working in dusty environments and handling hazardous materials while wearing necessary protective equipment (shoes, gloves, eyewear, etc.).
  • Must pass forklift and/or other warehouse equipment certifications (written and/or driving).
  • Physical ability to manage inventory, including lifting 25 lbs or more with assistance, and performing tasks such as standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
