Materials Handler

Pay Rate: $17.00 hourly

Location: Athens, GA 30602

Length of Assignment: 120 days

SUMMARY:

This position performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, sorting, inspecting, storing, Issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies for FMD shops and campus community. Activities are generally procedural, and this position has no formal supervisory duties over employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Delivery of supplies and materials to campus locations and FMD departments.

Participates in routing and counting of delivery supplies.

Assist with inventory control including maintaining an assigned area of the warehouse.

Assist with unloading materials from incoming freight carriers.

Assist customers with pick-up orders and counter releases from inventory.

Conduct first, quarterly inventory counts for verification.

Examines incoming shipments for damages or shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify.

Maintains shop order and cleanliness and performs related work as required by supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

2- 3 years customer service and warehouse experience.

2- 3 years clerical experience. Knowledge of computers, MS Outlook, Word, and internet navigation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
