Job description

Duties You will facilitate the receipt inspection process by coordinating inspection priorities, completion dates, requirement tests, etc. between the branch inspectors, codes and shops within and outside Code 130. You will be assigned a broad program in which you must be familiar in the use of a number of standard electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering principles, methods, and practices. You will track material undergoing receipt inspection by maintaining an automated status report. You will assist in providing recommendations on procurement packages for non-standard materials utilizing plans, specifications, and NAVSEA requirements, as well as vendor historical data. You will develop methods for analyzing quality data sources to be used to detect adverse trends. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications For the GS-11 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector reviewing and evaluating the quality of shipbuilding products or services, including the detection of adverse trends, utilizing quality control standards, procedures or techniques. For the GS-09 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of shipbuilding products or services utilizing quality control standards, procedures or techniques. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: For the GS-11 Grade Level: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position. -OR- Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position. -OR- An LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. For the GS-09 Grade Level: A master's or equivalent graduate degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position. -OR- Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position. -OR- An LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
