Senior Project Manager/Project Manager (Construction) Location: Chicago, IL
Compensation: $85,000- $115,000 Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager/Project Manager based in Des Plaines, IL, responsible for leading project teams and ensuring the successful execution of projects from design through completion. This role involves overseeing multiple aspects of project management, including safety, quality, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and more. The position requires hands-on project management for assigned projects, with potential oversight of additional project staff. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage the design and construction across multiple disciplines (civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, etc.) on assigned projects. • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, building codes, standards, permitting, and inspections. • Oversee subcontractor, vendor, and teaming partner agreements, ensuring thorough and accurate documentation before execution. • Collaborate on proposal teams for technical preparation and bid evaluations. • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, coordinating closely with project teams to ensure deadlines are met. • Manage all phases of projects from inception to handover, including commissioning and closeout. • Oversee project staff and subcontractors to ensure on-time project completion and compliance with all contractual requirements. • Will work closely with the estimating team to develop subcontracts in line with project scope and contractual obligations. • Handle project accounting, tracking labor, material costs, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and schedule adherence. • Develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. • Could you set up project controls to ensure compliance with all internal and external requirements? • Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to project teams, ensuring smooth project execution. • Conducted and documented weekly internal meetings with relevant departments to review progress and ensure timely project delivery. • Address and mitigate schedule delays by maintaining close communication with staff, subcontractors, and vendors. Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in a related field. • 7-10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on delivering successful projects for government agencies such as USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, GSA, and other public sector entities. • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Experience with design management, construction, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. • Proficient in project management tools, scheduling software, and construction management systems.
