If you have the background, experience, and drive, we currently have an opportunity for Logistics Team Leader at our manufacturing plant located in Jacksonville-West, IL.

Pay: $28.64/Hour

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Team Leader provides overall coordination of daily operations to ensure safe, efficient operations at standard output rates. Makes daily decisions to meet department objectives; focuses on resource allocation, staffing and conflict resolution. Functions as communication link between management, R2 (where applicable) and the work team; coaches and counsels team members; focuses team on key activities and assignments. Provides follow up on team activities and assignments; communicates and coordinates with other teams and support resources. Address team members' operator capabilities. The Team Leader is responsible for:

  • Leading and developing associates to achieve departmental and plant objectives.
  • Involve associates assigned to other work duties for effective and efficient operation of the work team.
  • Overall responsibility for the performance of the group and will hold associates accountable for their area of responsibility.
  • Coaching and counseling of associates as needed.
  • Coordinating daily activities of the group to meet operational targets, coordinating associate vacation, overtime and temporary labor to meet staffing objectives; Time and Attendance; SAP, and all other administrative needs.
  • Ensure that team members are following the Standard Work Procedures.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. SAFETY Team Leaders lead by example and follow all safety rules and procedures. Support all safety efforts in meeting safety goals and maintaining a safe work environment. Encourage and enforce that work team members adhere to safe work practices/procedures, and plant/department safety rules. Report all accidents and near misses. Support safety coordinator efforts in meeting safety goals and maintaining a safe work environment. Support TAZA sampling and action planning to ensure goals are met.
2. QUALITY
Team leaders must make decisions regarding quality decisions with input from OSSA's, R2's, Supervisor and/or Unit Manager. Also responsible for making decisions to hold unresolved quality issues for further analysis. Team Leaders must ensure all associates in their area of responsibility are following the department Quality Plan.
3. PRODUCTIVITY
Team Leaders direct team efforts to achieve production specific and plant wide goals. Ensure downtime is minimized through effective management of available material and labor resources,
as well as setting maintenance priorities. Coordinate with other team members to achieve maximum department productivity. Oversee the training of operators in their area of responsibility and assist the Supervisor with Temp to Hire and Pay for Skill programs.
4. SCHEDULING
Team Leaders can make emergency changes to the production schedule and to staffing levels (such as calling in technical resources) to balance customer and plant demands. They must communicate changes to all affected groups.
5. COACHING/COUNSELING/CORRECTIVE ACTION
Team Leaders are responsible for providing coaching and counseling. Team Leaders will also have responsibility for documenting behavioral or policy infractions and, if necessary, sending
employees home pending additional investigation.



SKILLS & TRAINING:

Experience or training in problem solving, conflict resolution, company policy and procedures and effective communication are strongly preferred.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be an R2 or NTL level.
  • Associates who wish to apply must not have a current (less than one year old) Step 2 corrective action in their file and must also have fewer than 4.5 attendance incidents at the time of the posting.
  • Associates must have held current position (Operator, R2, etc.) for minimum of 6-months.


PRIOR JOB EXPERIENCE

Must have demonstrated a high level of involvement such as being part of a safety improvement team, R2, etc. One or more years work experience in manufacturing production within plant. Familiar with current plant work-process flow. Prior quality experience helpful.
