What You Will Do

  • Operate high pressure boilers, turbines, high voltage generators, and auxiliary equipment at an on-site cogeneration plant that produces electricity
  • Monitor control board and regulates equipment, according to procedures and information obtained from recording and indicating instruments
  • Make repairs & modifications to equipment, including preventative maintenance in Power Plant and Facilities
  • Responsible for parts ordering and inventory
  • Other duties as assigned

Maintenance Responsibilities:

Power Plant operation and maintenance of:

  • 5000 HP Rolls Royse Gas Turbine Engine
  • 13KV Generator
  • 650 PSI Heat Reclaim Boiler
  • 150 PSI Boiler (2)
  • Air Compressors (3)
  • R & D, DI Regeneration System
  • Water Softener System
  • Fire Pumps, Distribution equipment and monitoring equipment.
  • Johnson Controls Building Monitoring/Control System
  • Emergency Generators
  • Forklift Equipment
  • 1000 Ton Trane Absorption Chiller (2)
  • 1000 Ton Carrier Centrifugal Chiller
  • Condenser Water Cooling Towers
  • 13,000 V Switch Gear
  • Nalco 3D Trasor units (3)
  • Data Center BAC Cooling System

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Snow Removal Equipment (including 2-yard bucket End loader)
  • Complete Confined Space and Hazmat Training
  • Conduct chemical analysis on various equipment/water.
  • Complete Basic Electrical Training
  • Complete First Aid/CPR/AED Training
  • Perform Basic Mechanical and Plumbing Repair
  • Knowledge of computer systems including Outlook
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Position Details:

  • Location: Naperville, IL
  • Work hours:
  • 12:00AM - 8:30AM would work at least 1 weekend day; OR
  • 4:00PM - 12:30AM (must have flexibility to work other shifts as needed)
  • Work weeks available: Tuesday - Saturday OR Sunday - Thursday
  • Compensation Package: $38 / hour to start (each new employee must complete a 2-year program that includes up to a 3% increase in pay in 6-month increments pending successful completion)
  • Facility Amenities: On-site fitness center (free to employees) and daycare facility (competitive rates)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or military environment OR a technical degree or diploma in a maintenance mechanical/electrical discipline

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to perform all physical duties
  • Must be able to climb ladders, lift 75lbs.
  • Must be capable of completion of hazmat training
  • Able to work in difficult situations such as confined spaces, heat and in high places.
  • Must be able to pass background check, drug test

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal vocational training in plant maintenance activities with an emphasis on industrial applications or equivalent job experience in electricity, power distribution, industrial electrical wiring, mechanics, machine operations, general plumbing, heating ventilation, and air conditioning, boiler operations.
  • 1 year of experience with PLC based applications in an industrial environment
  • 1 year of plumbing, pipefitting, pump repair and rebuilding experience
  • Experience with pumps, welding, bearings, electrical safety, forklifts, gears, hydraulics, valves, and rigging.
  • Experience in a TPM or Lean Six Sigma environment
  • Refrigeration Certification
  • Welding experience
  • Snow Removal Experience
  • Stationary Engineers License
