Job description

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST AT CHILDREN'S THERAPLAY:

The SLP position works closely with our physical and occupational therapists to ensure quality outcomes. Each session consists of time spent in our newly remodeled clinic as well as time spent utilizing the movement of the horse as a treatment tool.

This position will be every Monday from 8:00am-6:30pm starting September 9, 2024. This position is eligible to provide PRN coverage throughout the week.

You will be part of a collaborative team that continuously strives to improve our skills and education. Monthly you will be provided with a two-hour team meeting receiving education and round tables to discuss complex cases.

Job Description

TITLE: Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

STATUS: Part Time

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Contract or W2

REPORTS TO: Director of Therapy Services

SUMMARY OF PRIMARY DUTIES & REPSONSBILITIES:
The Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for treating assigned patients as appropriate and per established policies and procedures; ensuring effective application of speech programs and treatment procedures and appropriate insurance billing and coding.

ESSENTIAL PRIMARY DUTIES FOR SPEECH PATHOLOGIST:
Evaluate, treat, and discharge assigned patients as appropriate.
Maintain timely and quality patient documentation in accordance with TherAplay' s best practices.
Confer with the entire care team to plan and implement effective care plans.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, conforming to HIPPA privacy regulations.
Other duties as assigned.

PREREQUISITE SKILLS:
Knowledge of Medicaid and private insurance plans.
Familiarity with a variety of speech, language, fluency, voice, and cognitive disorders.
Experience or training with Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) systems.
Intermediate pediatric feeding experience strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team (PT & OT).
Basic computer literacy.
Ability to comply with all regulatory standards.
Must have working knowledge of the rehabilitation field and therapy professions.
Ability to effectively provide customer service to all customers and contacts.
Ability to communicate openly, honestly, directly, and effectively with all customers by both written and verbal skills.
Ability to incorporate a basic understanding of human behaviors, developmental needs, physical needs, emotional needs, and comfort during all interactions.
American Hippotherapy Association Level I and Level II preferred but not required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: The candidate must have a current or pending Indiana SLP license. Pediatric experience is preferred, but not required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Master's degree in speech language pathology or related field.

CERTIFICATIONS: Maintain current ASHA certification, CPR/First Aid
Certification, and Professional Malpractice Insurance
