Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

WHY IS THIS ROLE CRITICAL?

The primary responsibility of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is provider high quality, patient-centered, comprehensive psychiatric care in a telemedicine setting. You will triage patient through phone calls and video appointment, with the potential for an occasional field visit to deliver medically necessary care. In addition to regular psychiatric care, you will also participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care and plans for complicated cases.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Remotely triage, diagnose, and treat patients via facilitated virtual care, virtual care, or phone when needed.
  • For patients treated, ensuring appropriate medication management including appropriate patient follow-up and medication refills.
  • Assist in care coordination and onsite visit planning for both urgent and regularly scheduled mental health patient visits.
  • Giving and receiving regular feedback on individual patient cases.
  • Providing a positive patient experience in telemedicine interactions, including quality of care recommended and tone / messaging with which care is delivered.
  • Collaborate with the patient internal and external care teams.
  • Support the development and coordination of the patient's treatment plan.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for clinical care, risk adjustment, and billing purposes. Willingness to participate in standard ongoing education for clinical, documentation, and billing needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a minimum of 2 years of psychiatric experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Community Behavioral Health Center Inpatient Psych unit, Psych Urgent Care, or Psych ER.
  • A hardworking, detail-oriented individual with the ability to problem solve independently, reaching out for help and providing support on patient cases, as needed
  • A caring, compassionate individual who enjoys helping others and providing a positive care experience in a telemedicine platform
  • Comfort working with patients with complicated behavioral health, social, and physical needs.
  • Experience with behavioral interventions techniques such as: non-judgmental listening, Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma based care, and person first thinking.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years' experience as a psychiatric provider.
  • Ideal Candidate has a multi-state Advanced Nursing License

  • Willingness to become licensed (or already licensed) in multiple states.
