The Continuous Improvement Manager (plastics) will drive initiatives to enhance process efficiencies, reduce operational costs, and expand manufacturing capabilities using CI events, lean tools, and practices.

Description

Key Responsibilities for the CI Manager (Plastics):

  • Lead and facilitate CI activities using lean tools (e.g., Kaizen, GEMBA, 5S) to optimize Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
  • Implement corrective actions and analyze production data to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Utilize statistical tools to evaluate process and product performance.
  • Standardize documentation and training while collaborating with training, engineering, maintenance, and operations teams.
  • Manage significant projects related to material movement, site layout, and new product industrialization.
  • Support capital procurement projects in collaboration with operations, engineering, finance, and purchasing teams.
  • Work cross-functionally with various teams to optimize manufacturing and business systems.
  • Lead corporate training and education initiatives, and support operations Business Process activities.
  • Drive change and influence lean concept adoption across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with SQF/ISO requirements.

Profile

  • Extensive Lean Manufacturing Experience (plastics / thermoforming a plus)
  • Experience in leading Kaizen events, value stream mapping, Lean Six Sigma Certified Black Belt
  • Background in operations / operational excellence is preferred over experience in quality
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced manufacturing environment that is rapidly growing
  • Well versed in working on the production floor
  • Ability to clearly articulate lean methodologies to employees
  • Lean program is already in place, this individual would be responsible for maintaining the current infrastructure and upgrading it
  • Bachelor's degree required; Engineering preferred.
  • 7+ years in manufacturing, 5+ in CI leadership.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in capital projects, process improvement, and value engineering.
  • Background in packaging, food, or pharmaceutical industries required.
  • Strong communication skills; bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Availability for occasional off-hours emergencies, including weekends
  • Local to Attleboro, MA or open to relocating
