The Safety Manager will plan, direct, and manage all safety activities at my client's facility, ensuring alignment with corporate management directives. This role involves actively promoting a strong safety culture in the manufacturing environment and addressing safety matters and compliance concerns with employees and site visitors at their Braintree, MA facility.

Description

The Safety Manager (Chemical Manufacturing) Will:


  • Plan and manage the organization's health, safety, and loss control policies and procedures.
  • Provide direction and accountability from senior management and department managers.
  • Enhance the safety culture through employee engagement, ownership, and behavior-based safety initiatives; support process improvement efforts.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills as a member of the management team.
  • Conduct compliance audits and reviews to meet company and local regulations, reducing risk and liability.
  • Design and implement safety training programs to minimize accidents, occupational illnesses, and long-term health hazards.
  • Develop safety orientation plans and policies for new employees, covering skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal, and protective equipment usage.
  • Analyze and report on past accidents, identifying causes and developing recommendations to prevent recurrences.
  • Collaborate with functional departments to coordinate safety activities in their areas.
  • Ensure clear communication for understanding and compliance with all safety processes.
  • Conduct safety training programs and maintain necessary records, serving as a resource for both classroom and electronic training.
  • Perform additional duties as required.


Profile

Our Ideal Safety Manager will come from the following background:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a related field of study.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement safety programs that engage employees and foster a safe work culture.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory controls at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, MassDEP, and relevant local environmental health and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and interpersonal skills for guiding corrective actions and managing EHS projects and teams.
  • Designated as the company's Qualified Individual (QI)
  • Local to Braintree, MA
