Job description

The Automation Engineer will take charge of designing, building, and maintaining cutting-edge process equipment. They will also uncover and implement exciting opportunities for process and equipment enhancement.

Client Details

My client is a well established industrial equipment manufacturer that's products are mainly used for medical device applications. The role is with one of our best clients that we've made many placements with over the years as the company has been steadily expanding as sales continue to grow.

Description

This role will report into the General Manager and be responsible for:

  • Designing and maintaining control systems for semi-automated processing equipment.
  • Ensuring equipment meets NFPA 79 certification standards.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving electrical and mechanical instrument issues.
  • Repairing and maintaining production and R&D equipment.
  • Upgrading and maintaining existing process control systems.
  • Designing and fabricating process fixtures.
  • Developing and implementing new process control systems.
  • Training technicians on equipment operation.
  • Overseeing the Maintenance Program.
  • Managing the Calibration Program.
  • Developing and documenting training procedures.
  • Creating and managing production support drawings.
  • Ensuring equipment operates at peak efficiency.

Profile

A successful candidate will have:

  • 3-5+ years of experience designing automated equipment
  • Experience with Vacuum manufacturing or Vacuum automation is a must
  • National Instruments Hardware knowledge
  • LABVIEW, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360 understanding
  • Engineering documentation familiarity
