We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, specifically in process piping and plumbing for lab and life science projects. The ideal candidate will manage 2-5 projects simultaneously, ranging from $200K to $1M.

Our team serves major biotech, lab, and pharmaceutical clients across Boston, Worcester, and Framingham, delivering projects ranging from $200K to $2M. We compete with larger firms like Suffolk, and Consigli but provide faster, more flexible solutions to our clients' needs, with significantly less red tape.

Description

The Project Manager - Lab and Life Science will be responsible for

  • Manage and oversee lab and life science construction projects, focusing on heavy mechanical work (process piping and plumbing), with minimal electrical scope.
  • Lead project scheduling, material management, and overall project execution, ensuring high-quality work delivered on time and within budget.
  • Conduct regular site visits and collaborate with Site Superintendents, ensuring smooth project operations.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to maintain clear communication and expectations.
  • Use Procore and Bluebeam software for project documentation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Oversee safety, quality, and performance metrics on multiple projects (2-5 at any given time).
  • Problem-solve and ensure projects run efficiently, with the ability to wear multiple hats (Project Executive, Project Manager, Superintendent).

Profile

The Project Manager - Lab and Life Science will have the following skillset

  • 5+ years of experience in project management within lab, life science, or biotech construction.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in MEP systems, particularly in process piping and plumbing (heavy mechanical focus).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from $200K to $1M+.
  • Experience using project management software (Procore, Bluebeam) is required.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to work in a smaller, fast-paced environment.
