Required qualifications/skills'

  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience.

  • Knowledge and experience writing Associated Press style.

  • Analysis and interpretation of information and data, and presentation of recommendations.

  • Knowledge and experience with research, analysis, and evaluation techniques of educational material.

  • Knowledge and experience of adult learning styles, educational levels, plain language and health equity lens in the development of educational material.

  • Partnership development and collaborative mindset.

    Preferred qualifications/skills

  • Bachelor's degree in public health or health education/promotion with an emphasis in public health

  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)

  • Master's degree in health education or health promotion preferred, but not required.

    Duties:

  • Assess the existing environment to determine what organ, eye and tissue donation material currently exists. This includes researching what other states and national organizations have available that may be customized and adopted.

  • Research toolkits by other public health programs for inspiration and ideas.

  • Identify educational gaps and make recommendations for what material should be customized and adopted and what material to develop for the Missouri Organ and Tissue Donor Program related to organ, eye and tissue donation and the Donate Life Missouri Registry.

  • Using environment scan and gap analysis, develop an educational toolkit that informs/teaches Missourians about organ, eye and tissue donation and the Donate Life Missouri Registry. This shall include a variety of web-based printable material that reaches multiple generations of Missouri s diverse population aged 15 and older. The toolkit shall include community event ideas with setup and implementation suggestions, social media posts, factual talking points, etc. The digital toolkit material must:

    oBe a multi-faceted approach and contain outreach materials that can be used by businesses, advocates, churches, and local community groups. Program advocates can be state or local organizations, groups or clubs, local businesses, faith-based organizations or groups, Organ/Tissue Recipients, Donor Family members, or community members with a passion for informing others about organ, eye and tissue donation.

    oBe easily co-brandable by users while maintaining information, design, and color integrity.

    oBe relevant for community-based events (i.e., Missouri State Fair, Local Public Health Fairs, Community Health Events, Registry Drives, etc.)

    oInclude information about living donation.

    oInclude speaker notes/talking points.

    oInclude material that dispels common myths.

  • Work closely with the Sr. Program Specialist of the Organ and Tissue Donor Program and the Office of Public Information during the development and design phases.

    Participate in planning, project updates, and design meetings.
