Part-Time Physician-OBGYN Outpatient Surgery Specialist

Jordan Valley Community Health Center in Springfield, Missouri is seeking an OBGYN to join our team.

We are a Federal Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in Southwest Missouri and can provide you with the desired work-life balance. Our OBGYNs have an outpatient practice with the opportunity to do procedures in clinic and the possibility of delivering babies at the local hospitals.

The OBGYN - Outpatient Surgery Specialist will perform outpatient surgical procedures within the scope of obstetrics and gynecology. This role focuses exclusively on performing scheduled surgeries in a clinical setting, with no clinic-based patient consultations or inpatient responsibilities. The OBGYN will collaborate with the Women's Health team to ensure high-quality patient care and successful surgical outcomes.

Essential Functions:

JVCHC works within the context of a patient centered medical home and from a team approach. The team includes the primary care provider and other JVCHC staff, as well as the patient and the patient's family. Outside specialists and other community partners may also play a role in the team-based care. The goal of the team is to promote timely access to care, comprehension and continuity of care, as well as the enhancement of patient health. As such, your position will require you to collaborate within the team and perform duties in-line with this team-based healthcare delivery model.

Perform outpatient gynecological surgeries, including but not limited to hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, D&C, tubal ligations, and other minor surgeries.
This role is exclusively focused on outpatient surgical procedures with no inpatient or general clinic responsibilities.
Ensure all pre-operative assessments are conducted in coordination with clinic staff.
Provide timely follow-up care and consultations for post-surgical patients, monitoring their recovery and addressing any complications.
Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to optimize surgical outcomes and patient safety.
Collaborate with a dedicated support team, including nurses, medical assistants, and other physicians.
Participate in the training and education of support staff, including nurses and medical assistants.
Collaborate with operational leaders on timely performance reviews for the team.
Ensure timely completion of chart reviews and other duties as assigned by the compliance department.
Complete all charting and close encounters according to established policies and timelines.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and ethical standards in the practice of medicine and surgery.
Stay current with the latest medical advancements, participating in continuing education, and applying best practices in the field.
Responsibly follow the Clinic Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
Perform all other duties as assigned, supporting the overall mission of the clinic and compliance with operational needs.

Requirements:

Minimum Education:

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Missouri state medical license in good standing.

Minimum Work Experience:

Complete three to eight years of internship and residency
Experience with outpatient surgery settings preferred.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

State medical license in good standing.
Current BLS or ACLS Certificate required.
