What You'll Be Doing:
The System Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the operational, financial, and strategic activities of the Food & Nutrition, Environmental Services (EVS), and Transportation departments. Ensures that each department operates efficiently, delivers exceptional service to patients, team members, and visitors, and maintains high standards of safety, cleanliness, and compliance. The Director will work closely with department managers and team members to optimize service delivery and enhance the overall patient and guest experience.

Food & Nutrition Services:

Oversee the management of all food services operations, including patient meals, cafeteria services, and catering for internal and external events.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety, sanitation, and dietary requirements (e.g., FDA, OSHA, and HACCP standards).

Collaborate with clinical nutrition teams to ensure patient meals meet prescribed dietary needs and nutritional guidelines.

Monitor customer satisfaction and continuously seek to improve the quality, variety, and efficiency of food service operations.

Manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation to achieve financial goals for Food & Nutrition Services.

Lead staff development, training, and performance evaluations for food service personnel.

Environmental Services (EVS):

Oversee the cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance operations to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Develop and implement policies and procedures for infection control, waste management, and environmental sustainability.

Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, OSHA regulations, and other health and safety protocols relevant to hospital and healthcare facilities.

Regularly assess the cleanliness and maintenance of all hospital areas, including patient rooms, common areas, and specialized care areas.

Manage staffing levels, training programs, and equipment procurement for the EVS department to ensure efficiency and quality service delivery.

Evaluate and monitor departmental budgets, ensuring optimal resource use and cost control.

Transportation Services:

Oversee patient transport services, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient transportation of patients within the hospital as well as external transport when necessary.

Ensure all transportation personnel are trained in proper patient handling, customer service, and infection control.

Collaborate with clinical departments to coordinate transport services, reducing patient wait times and improving the overall patient experience.

Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws, regulations, and hospital policies.

Maintain and manage transportation equipment, including wheelchairs, stretchers, and vehicles, ensuring that they are well-maintained and meet safety standards.

Analyze transportation logistics to optimize routes and schedules for greater efficiency.

Leadership and Strategy:

Lead and mentor managers across all service areas (Food & Nutrition, EVS, and Transportation), ensuring alignment with hospital goals, mission, and values.

Develop long-term strategies to enhance service efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction across all managed departments.

Collaborate with hospital leadership on cross-departmental initiatives to improve operational performance and enhance the overall patient experience.

Conduct regular assessments and audits to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, quality standards, and hospital policies.

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for each department and monitor ongoing performance to ensure operational excellence.

Financial Management:

Prepare and manage the annual budget for all three departments, ensuring cost control and efficient allocation of resources.

Monitor financial performance regularly, making adjustments to department strategies and operations to meet budget goals.

Work with procurement and supply chain management to ensure cost-effective purchasing of food, supplies, and equipment.

Identify opportunities for revenue generation or cost savings through process improvements, resource optimization, or service enhancements.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work closely with clinical teams, department heads, and executive leadership to ensure smooth operational flow and collaboration across departments.

Engage with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to negotiate contracts and ensure the highest quality of services and products.

Foster positive relationships with patients, families, and staff by addressing concerns, gathering feedback, and implementing service improvements.

What We're Looking For:
Full Time, Day Shift

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred.

Experience:

At least 7-10 years of progressive experience in managing hospitality services in a healthcare or hospital environment.

Experience overseeing multiple services (e.g., food services, environmental services, and transportation).

Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices in hospitality services.

Skills:

Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, patients, and senior leadership.

Proven ability to manage large teams across diverse service areas.

Financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, forecast costs, and control expenditures.

Knowledge of infection control, patient safety, and customer service best practices in a healthcare setting.

Proficiency in using relevant software and systems for managing food services, EVS, and transportation logistics.
