Visa Global Treasury is looking for a senior finance professional that has in-depth, hands-on settlement experience to support Treasury activities in the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) and North American regions. This individual will have direct responsibility for overseeing settlement services in North and Latin America and Caribbean Regions. The person will lead the Relationship Management aspects with Settlement Agents, either Central Bank, Commercial Bank or Inter-Bank Companies and provide settlement product consultancy to a wide array of internal and external stakeholders.
The role is based in New York and reports to the Senior Director, Head of Treasury Settlement for the Americas.
Essential Functions:
The role will have leadership responsibility for Settlement Services for a portfolio of countries and acts as a consultant to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
Role manages all resolution of settlement operational issues affecting the safe execution of local funds transfers by Settlement Banks.
In addition, this position will facilitate new business and product launches via the creation of new settlement services. There will be particular emphasis on mitigating operational and liquidity risks.
Highly developed problem-solving strategic thinking and decision-making skills are required in order to provide consultancy on Treasury Settlement related issues to senior level executives both internally to Visa and externally at Government and Central Bank Governor level.
Encourage team via analysis and development of their ongoing settlement, FX, cash management, liquidity and systems subject matter expertise to provide direction to internal Product stakeholders concerning the optimal best-practice setup and restructure of settlement services
Develop team's ability to provide consultancy on International Settlement set up issues when NNSS is a factor and streamline processes for Client onboarding while enhancing related documentation accordingly.
When required as part of a production roster, manage daily settlement advice and reconciliation production duties via internal proprietary applications, external vendor applications and banking portals.
Provide guidance on the structure of new Settlement Services implementations or changes to existing settlement services focusing on regulatory issues which impact settlement operations and settlement design locally.
Lead major incident management responses at a regional level spanning major system issues, client or settlement agent failure, civil unrest or responses to OFAC sanctions by eliminating the reputational risk to Visa
Ensure all Treasury procedures and processes are documented, reviewed and updated annually for accuracy.
Lead the management of audit and business resumption planning and testing responses
Lead Treasury responses as relates to National Payment System initiatives both via in person meetings and workshops and via consultancy regarding Central bank engagement and regulator or legislative impacts
Lead effective cross functional project collaboration with Product, Risk, Legal, CSR, Government Engagement, and Processing to design funds transfer frameworks for settlement schemes in countries where domestic products are predominant, and the availability of foreign exchange liquidity is scarce
Collaborate on strategic direction for settlement related rules that impact client's abilities to pay and be paid by Visa simplifying where possible.
Develop strong relationships with stakeholders in the market such as Country Managers, to design settlement models that closely resemble best practices to minimize client impacts.
Partner with country managers and other cross-functional teams to deal effectively with country level crises impacting settlement.
This is a hybrid position based in New York, NY. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
