Intermediate-level Agency Engagement Manager High-rise Institutional buildings

Client:

Our client is an international firm providing professional and technical support services to public and private sector clients. Their expertise includes government and institutional facilities, bridge and highway construction, transportation design and commercial and residential building facilities construction/maintenance. They use their extensive knowledge to restore and replace aging infrastructure across cities, countries, and continents. Recent projects include a new subway line in New York City, the world's largest green-field port development in Qatar, a 24-kilometer sea crossing in Malaysia and the expansion of LA International Airport. Over five-thousand Architects and 75,000 Engineers work for this A/E firm around the world.

Job Description:

Immediate need for an Agency Engagement Deputy Manager to assist in this multi-billion-dollar program by the NYC Department of Design & Construction to construct four new buildings across four boroughs as part of the Borough-Based Jails Program. Must possess excellent communication and team-building skills and the ability to work proactively, independently, and collaboratively as required by the DDC.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for understanding and navigating NYC governmental structures and processes as well as building relationships with government agency contacts.

The Deputy manager will handle unique challenges having the opportunity to develop unique solutions.

Support the development and execution of Authorities having jurisdiction on NYC Design-Build projects.

Assist with engaging all applicable city & state agencies such as DOB, DOC, FDNY, NYPD, ConEd, etc.

Support Managers on coordination and support of agency meetings, scheduling, and tracking outreach and resolution of outstanding design and permitting issues.

Prepare agendas, PowerPoint presentations, and meeting minutes.

Update and maintain Excel spreadsheets and SharePoint site.

Close collaboration with design, construction, clients, and agencies.

Interface regularly with Design-Build teams.

Required:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Bachelor's degree in public policy or similar, or in Architecture or Engineering or a relevant field of study.

Strong problem recognition and proactive resolution skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Ability to Lead, working independently or as part of a team.

Previous experience working with NYC agencies preferred.

Ability to work on 4 or more projects at a time.

Strong verbal and written skills in a client-facing capacity including a high-level political acumen.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in public policy or similar, or in Architecture or Engineering or a relevant field of study.
