Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join our legal team. In this role, you will support all aspects of real estate transactions, particularly those involving low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC), HUD loans, and various financing options. Your contributions will be vital throughout the deal cycle, from due diligence to closing.

Description

  • Review title reports and surveys, addressing feedback from counter parties.
  • Conduct due diligence and assist in coordinating transactions related to affordable housing.
  • Work with vendors to obtain necessary due diligence documents and certifications.
  • Collaborate with title companies to finalize title policies and ensure compliance.
  • Employ project management tools to create work plans, monitor budgets, and track transaction phases.
  • Prepare signature packets and manage the execution of documents by stakeholders.
  • Draft corporate documents, such as operating agreements and consent forms, ensuring accuracy.
  • Organize closing indices and binders, and follow up on post-closing tasks.
  • Conduct legal research and gather information as needed.
  • Assist with additional duties and projects as assigned.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate real estate.
  • Background as a commercial real estate or affordable housing paralegal with finance experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder interaction.
  • Keen attention to detail and commitment to producing error-free documents.
  • A collaborative mindset and dedication to contributing to mission-driven initiatives.
