Overview:
Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of AVP Platform Engineering. Primary Function: Responsible for designing, implementing and operating the infrastructure components of our platforms. These components include cloud and on-premises compute, networking, storage, data platform engineering, automation platforms, and telecommunications. The AVP of Platform Engineering will focus the team on designing and implementing highly automated solutions to deliver infrastructure and applications to other technology teams and to our business partners, including CI/CD pipelines, proactive monitoring and self-healing capabilities.
The ideal candidate will possess a "Product Owner" mindset for all technology and services underneath Platform engineering team, ensuring the services delivered are tightly aligned to the business needs of the credit union Finally, they will collaborate with cross functional teams (DevOps, Security, Software Development, Enterprise Architecture, IT Assurance, Automation) to ensure seamless integration and delivery of services.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for Platform Engineer function maturity (technology road maps, emerging technology recommendation, continuous service improvement, and advocate of automation services)
Ensure platform technology is Scalable, Fault Tolerant, and Highly Secure.
Oversee the design, implement and maintain enterprise technology solutions for Automation, Compute, Data Platform, Networking, and Telecommunication services including overseeing all day-to-day activities, upgrades, and patching.
Oversee the design, implement and maintain end to end Automation Services responsible for delivery of Infrastructure code (IaC) and Monitoring and Self-Healing services.
Responsible for defining KPI's and implementing monitoring and reporting platform infrastructure performance and availability.
Champion SDLC transformation from Waterfall to Agile in Infrastructure service teams
Oversee the maintenance and enforcement of SDLC and ITSM processes, change management procedures, departmental standards, style requirements and all other procedures necessary for data and system integrity.
Conduct regular meetings to provide staff with updated department and Credit Union initiatives. Evaluate and coach employees on a regular basis and provide appropriate feedback. Responsible for employee training and development. Mentor departmental staff on assignments and promotes team environment.
Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Data Platform Functions and or Analytics is required.
ITSM Framework (ITIL v3+) certification is required.
Azure Fundamentals certification is required.
Minimum 8 Years leadership experience in the technology management industry.
Minimum 5 Years experience managing teams support infrastructure solution in 24/7 environment.
Minimum 5 Years experience working with Cloud (Azure pref) and MSFT Azure Devops or Atlassian suite
Minimum 5 Years experience leading efforts to implement automation services (CI/CD, IaC, Self-Healing)
Minimum 3 Years experience leading data teams (dba, data engineer, data or business intel analyst)
Minimum 3 Years experience managing 3rd party vendors and offshore managed services providers (MSP)
Minimum 3 Years experience in project management using Agile methodologies.
