Remote Scrum Master Job:
Long term contract
Pay Rate Range: $50-65.00 based on experience.
AKKODIS has an exciting opportunity for a Scrum Master to join our growing development team. This team is working on leading edge and challenging development solutions.
This is a hybrid role combining project management and scrum master disciplines. While implementation is done in an agile methodology, there is the need to also manage the longer term program plans including: estimating longer term efforts, status reporting to program team and Sr. Leadership, proactively identifying and addressing challenges and blockers, challenging the teams to provide well thought out estimates and leading them to meet them.
The Scrum Master will be the facilitator for the scrum team. They will assist the Product Owner with backlog management and prioritization. They will assist the development team by facilitating various activities like work estimation, sprint planning, daily stand up meetings, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives, etc. They are primarily responsible for shielding the development team from distractions and for removing impediments identified throughout the sprints.
They are also responsible to be part of the delivery leadership community, working to improve process, provide executive briefings and foster collaboration across teams. They expected to adhere to established practices and contribute to improvement of practices.
Responsibilities of the Remote Scrum Master Job:
• Facilitating ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Coaching teams and stakeholders in Lean-Agile practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Assisting teams in delivering value by managing impediments, risks, and dependencies.
• Collaborating with Product Owners to prioritize and refine the product backlog for optimal delivery.
• Supporting alignment between business, IT, and product management to ensure a clear understanding of vision and goals.
• Driving epic-level prioritization and sequencing with stakeholders to maximize value delivery.
• Facilitating program-level events and helping the teams improve their agility and execution.
• Tracking progress and providing delivery metrics and status updates to leadership.
• Assisting with release management activities to ensure smooth delivery of product increments.
• Promoting a self-organizing and collaborative team environment, encouraging ownership and accountability within the team.
Desired Qualifications of the Remote Scrum Master Job:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Management and Scrum Master roles, preferably within software development.
• Strong experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and tools such as JIRA and the Atlassian suite.
• Proven ability to facilitate Scrum ceremonies, manage risks, and ensure alignment between business, IT, and product management.
Pay Details: $50.00 to $65.00 per hour
