Overview:
Novant Health is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Educator in our Charlotte, NC facility.

The Behavioral Health Educator is responsible for directing, planning, and organizing all aspects of the school program. Provides classroom instruction to patients in the Child and Adolescent Services. Responsible for school records and compliance. Tests and evaluates patients as needed for learning, emotional, or attention difficulties. Provides formal and informal training to parents and patient's school. Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education or other Human Services field required. Master's Degree in Human Services preferred.

Experience: Experience in special education or working with behavioral health population, required.

Licensure/Certification: Refer Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096

Additional Skills (required): Ability to work effectively with schools and parents to ensure successful integration into educational environment upon discharge. Knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient's age and special needs. Knowledge of DSM diagnoses, treatment interventions, approaches, and psychotropic medications. Ability to participate in non-violent crisis intervention training.
