Job description

OVERVIEW
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for the maintenance of heavy industrial machinery, team orientated, excellent communication skills, and prioritizes attendance.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Serves as an operations partner in equipment repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.

Follow all safety instructions and rules.

Direct all 2nd shift maintenance activities.

Responsible for daily shift updates.

Prioritize and coordinate activities with the appropriate shift supervisors and maintenance supervisor.

Set up, plan procedures, install, and repair equipment on a timely basis.

Coordinate preventative maintenance programs.

Execute and implement the best workflows to reach the most efficient operations. Follow and implement safety and environmental performance standards.

Coordinate and communicate equipment 'up time' issues and upkeep database. Perform welding and metal fabrication as required.

Perform most complex repairs equipment control diagnosis both mechanical and electrical.

Maintains clean and orderly work areas.

Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma: Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.

1-2 years of maintenance experience in a food-manufacturing environment preferred.

Experience in heavy industrial equipment repair.

Mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic competency.

Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

Self-motivation: Ability to work independently.

High energy level and a team-player.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand, sit, squat, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stretch, walk, reach, twist, bend, grasp, use hands and fingers, handle objects or controls, talk, and hear.

Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

Physically capable of accessing/moving through all areas of the plant; Agility to negotiate around moving machinery and people.

Physical capabilities are required in all plant areas.

Work in a noisy environment (>85 decibels) and moving equipment.

Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts.
