Come Join Our Team Join our team onsite in Elizabeth City NC to assist our US Coast Guard Client with their Application Systems & Programming Engineering Department. The Aviation Logistics Center is the hub for the Coast Guard aviation support, which includes the missions of aviation depot level maintenance, structural engineering, spare parts warehousing, and information service needs. This site provides Aviation Logistics that enable Coast Guard mission execution, including: Depot Level Maintenance, Engineering, Supply, Procurement, and Information Services. What is the position? Successful Candidate will perform in all phases of systems/software development and implementation with special emphasis on study, analysis, and testing and acceptance phase. Will also perform evaluation of current IT operations in order to determine multi-year projections for personnel, hardware, and software. What will I get to do? Participates in hardware/software evaluations
Supports systems analysts, as well as Government personnel to ensure problems have been properly identified and that solutions shall satisfy the customer's requirements
Provides technical expertise and guidance in IT specialties not covered by other specialists
Performs systems analysis in a specialized IT area, e.g., telecommunications, operating systems software, software/hardware integration, software validation and verification
Be capable of defining all change request policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and SOPs in an Agile Environment. What qualifications do I need? US Citizen able to pass the required background check to hold a Homeland Security Clearance.
Ability to work onsite daily at the US Coast Guard site in Elizabeth City, NC. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
2 Years of professional IT work experience Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technologies
Experience with Cognos and SQL
Experience with some of the following Platforms (Linux, Solaris, AIX)
Experience with some of the Applications (IBM Tivoli / Netcool Suite, IBM Tivoli / ITPM, SevOne)
Experience with some of the Languages (C/C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, Perl, Moose (Object Oriented Perl) What additional characteristics will help me thrive?
