Job description

Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Project Accountant for our client in Raleigh, NC. The Project Accountant's primary responsibility is to support the project team by managing all accounting related functions for assigned projects and assisting project teams with any questions or needs related to the accounting department. This position is responsible for AIA billing, subcontractor invoicing, job forecasting, budget download and management, change orders, compliance auditing, job reporting, and cost transfer entries.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all billings are submitted on time and with the appropriate documentation
  • Follows up to assure timely payment of invoices and change orders
  • Update the project budget to account for change orders and project revisions
  • Ensures cost are properly captured and submitted on a timely basis for change orders as necessary
  • Manages submission and billing of changes orders with the PM
  • Collect and track compliance documents
  • Ensures all subcontractor documentation is received and executed in a timely manner to ensure compliance.
  • Ensures all invoices are received and processed in the appropriate month.
  • Reviews and understands the Client's contract for general specifications, sales tax, invoicing, extra work billing, and change management
  • Prepare accounting related entries to numerous registers, journals, and logs.
  • Ensures closeout items are completed by the end of each phase of work and all retainage is collected timely
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-5 years of accounting ( specifically AR & AIA Billing ) experience.
  • Associate's Degree Accounting preferred
  • Engage and partner with clients and internal partners as required.
  • Prefer working in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excel in problem solving.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Foundation software a plus.
