This is a hybrid onsite/remote opportunity where you will report to the USPTO EBC location in Weaverville, NC and have the flexibility to work from home based on business needs.
Our Customer's Mission:
The USPTO Electronic Business Center (EBC) provides external customers with a broad range of customer service and technical assistance for various Patent and Trademark electronic systems. The EBC's mission is to assist stakeholders throughout their journey in the U.S. Patent and Trademark systems by offering clear, consistent, and intuitive solutions. We empower customers by removing barriers, enabling all innovators to understand and navigate the Patent and Trademark systems with ease.
An average day:
As Deputy Program Manager, your role is to organize, direct, and coordinate the planning, oversight, and implementation of a program, or group or programs, at the discretion of the Director of Support Services. This position may be responsible for both project and program level activities depending on the needs of the Epsilon or the Customer. You will coordinate and collaborate directly with Epsilon customers, subcontractors, and internal teams. Utilizing your skills and experience with varied project management disciplines and toolsets, this role will define and perform all tasks related to successful execution of the program with little direction. In this position you will:
Oversee daily management of operations for task, project, or program level activities.
Ensure the performance, completeness, and accuracy of work assigned under the task/project/program to achieve the performance objectives and requirements of the program or contract.
Manage the scope of work encompassed by program with regards to deliverables and other project milestones.
Lead teams of individuals (Epsilon & subcontractor employees) to complete the requirements and objectives of the task, project, or program level activities, often at the direction of a Program Manager or Chief of Operations, or another Epsilon Senior Leader.
Create and track task, project, and/or program deliverables, documentation, and compliance requirements on time and within budget.
Provide direction to the project team and review the quality of all work products.
Lead staffing, project planning, project financials, and staff direction and oversight.
Maintain and cultivate client relationships.
Maintain personnel training and certification of workforce to ensure program success and compliance.
Support business development and proposal processes across the Epsilon Enterprise.
Submit reports as required by the program or contract.
Monitor working hours and assist with timecard approvals
Basic Qualifications:
As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be either a U.S. Citizen or have official legal status in the United States and must have continually resided in the United States for the last two years. In accordance with , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.
Bachelor's degree with three (3) or more years of experience and/or education in project/program management or related field(s).
Demonstrated leadership with excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
1-3 years previous contact/call center experience in a leadership role desired
Highly focused attention to detail across multiple ongoing activities.
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively.
Ability to solve problems and translate policies into daily routine operations.
Knowledge and understanding of the technology industry.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated proficiency with project management toolsets (MS Project, Jira/Confluence, Azure DevOps, etc.)
Strong team player and goal oriented.
PMP certification desired.
ITIL v4 Certification desired.
Other Requirements:
Ability to pass a federal background investigation to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or hold a DoD Security Clearance, if required for the projects/programs being managed.
This role may oversee and manage a team of direct reports.
Must be able to travel to various Company locations and/or Customer sites across the United States for meetings and onsite visits, as needed by the Company/Customer.
Expected out of area travel: 25-50%.
