Job description

Overview: The LG Energy Solution-Honda joint venture has partnered with Rose International for Direct hire recruiting services for this role.

This role will lead a team with approximately 4-5 direct reports. Work with direct reports to progress associate development and consolidate reporting to Finance leadership. Work with Finance and Plant leadership to ensure complete understanding of financial impacts based on manufacturing changes and translate that into financial forecasts. Ensure assigned team fulfills requirements related to outside auditing and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the company's internal accounting system to complete necessary cyclical accounting processes

  • Ensure your work team is appropriately trained regarding accounting system functionality and usage

  • Prepare assigned areas of annual financial statements accurately, timely, and appropriately

  • Partner with Finance and other business partners in the preparation of the annual and mid-year budgets

  • Complete assigned processes related to fixed asset accounting

  • Conduct the goal setting, goal tracking, and performance reviews for direct reports in a timely and thorough manner

  • Appropriately prepare for audits and report on audit findings

  • Complete month-end duties including recognizing and accounting for expenses, ensuring all data is entered and approved, and communicating with all teams regarding needs

  • Review and approval of journal entries and general ledger reconciliations; assist in preparing monthly financial statements

  • Inspect account books and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions

  • Coordinate preparation of budget vs actual comparisons for the company, which are analyzed based on professional accounting standards to ensure accurate financial information and to advise management on future activity

  • Use financial information to create presentations to advise plant leadership of budget vs actual condition and make recommendations for areas of improvement

  • Collaborate with other departments to gain and expand understanding of various fixed asset activities, connecting reporting requirements by meeting with appropriate reporting teams

  • Assist departments by enhancing financial literacy, business acumen, and providing insightful recommendations and analysis to build a cost competitive culture

  • Monitor cash transactions to ensure bank accounts are balanced and report any unusual transactions

  • Perform cash flow analysis and forecast to develop and improve cash management process

  • Manage loan procedures to ensure funding is available for daily operations as well as long term investments

  • Research and resolve payment issues by tracking payment history and monitoring daily bank balance and transactions

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Education/Experience:

  • 4 year Accounting or Finance degree preferred

  • 2 year Associates degree acceptable with 6+ years Accounting experience

  • 8-10 years of Accounting or Finance related experience

    Knowledge/Skills:

  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Experience with SAP software is a plus

  • MS Office Suite, including advanced MS Excel Skills

  • Positive, professional attitude and demonstrated effectiveness in accomplishing goals

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills

  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and reporting skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational ability

  • Previous experience in manufacturing industry is preferred

  • This role may require up to 5-10% of travel (domestic)
