AVI Foodsystems is looking for an energetic and optimistic leader to fill this critical role for AVI Foodsystems at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Partner with company HR leaders to ensure division and company practices are aligned
• Maintain and monitor relationships with union organized bargaining unit members
• Act as the liaison between bargaining unit members and AVI
• Monitor the effectiveness of overall HR processes
• Develop measurement and assessment methods to ensure consistency and fairness
• Counsel and advise management on policy and practice issues
• Consult with client on human resource issues and resolve operating issues through established policies and procedures
• Collaborate with other HR professionals at AVI corporate headquarters to ensure consistency of HR philosophy and standards
• Keep key human resources leaders apprised of critical operating and climate issues
• Actively participate in team member relations
• Provide guidance and leadership in the administration of the collective bargaining agreement
• Manage the overall relationship with established bargaining unit leadership
• Manage investigations, processing and settlement of grievances
• Assist with payroll administration
• Coordinate job postings and staffing changes
• Coordinate and participate in training programs
• Participate in the recruitment and onboarding process for new hires

Preferred Requirements:

• Strong work ethic
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in multi-unit food service operations
• Experience in labor relations / union contract administration
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Degree in a related field of study or a minimum of 10 years of experience in Human Resources / Labor Relations
• Familiarity with labor laws and generally accepted practices and procedures
• High level of creativity and excellent problem solving skills
