Job description

Electronics Technician I Charleston, SC MANDEX currently has a need for an Electronics Technician I to join our MHS LAN team in Charleston, SC. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Executing installation and maintenance activities within planned durations.
Completing high-quality device and component installation activities and maintenance activities.
Executing testing to verify high quality installations.
Executing testing to identify and correct system problems at component and system levels as part of system sustainment activities.
Installing system raceway.
Installing system cabling, to include CAT6/CAT6A copper cabling and Single-mode fiber optics.
Terminating and testing system cabling and all components utilizing Fluke Networks test equipment.
Installing equipment racks, enclosures, panels and all mounting hardware components.
Meeting all attendance requirements and working hours of the assignment
Communicating effectively with supervisors.
Communicating effectively with subordinates.
Incorporating, following and reinforcing all required safety practices at all times. EXPERIENCE
4+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs.
Must have the ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
Attention to detail - reviews work, has little errors and strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
Knowledge of OSHA general safety standards and the proper care and usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
BICSI Installer or Technician (Preferred).
Installation experience with Aruba and Cisco Wireless Access Points (WAPs) (Preferred). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds at one time and 30 pounds for extended periods of time.
Must be able to relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
Must be able to work at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events. TRAVEL
Ability to travel up to 80% of the time. Must have a valid passport and be willing to travel CONUS and OCONUS.
This position requires ongoing use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record in accordance with MANDEX policy. EDUCATION
HS diploma or GED
Formal Electronics Training as follows: Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours) or graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program or graduation from an Electrical Apprenticeship program or an additional three (3) years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities.
