Hours: 40
Weekly Schedule: Mon-Friday. No call or holidays. One day a week in staffing.
Job summary: The Educator reports to the Surgical Services Director. The Educator develops and conducts education programs that enable staff to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to support unit(s), Service Line and Medical Center goals. Goals include achievement of clinical and quality measures, operational efficiency, financial targets as well as population/age specific needs of the assigned department(s).
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of three years of applied clinical experience as a Surgical Services RN. Previous experience in PreOP, PACU, Endoscopy and OR preferred. Basic knowledge of the unit's patient population, health care trends, community and regional resources and service availability to these populations. An ability to establish comparative working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff, and other health care disciplines. Current South Carolina licensure as a registered nurse or compact state.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Other certifications may be required to maintain employment for a respective department.
Preferred Experience and Training Requirements: A Masters Degree in Nursing may be substituted for 1 year of required experience. Holds the CNOR certification from the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses
