Job Description: Steel Erection Field Superintendent

Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Steel Erection Field Superintendent to lead our steel erection projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on the job site, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in the erection of structural steel. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of steel construction processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all steel erection activities on-site, ensuring that projects are executed according to plans and specifications.


  • Enforce safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.


  • Lead and manage a team of ironworkers and subcontractors. Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure effective communication among all crew members.


  • Monitor work progress to ensure high-quality standards are met. Address any discrepancies or issues promptly.


  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project objectives are achieved on time and within budget. Coordinate material deliveries and equipment rentals.


  • Maintain daily logs of site activities, progress reports, and any incidents. Provide regular updates to project management on project status.


  • Quickly identify and resolve any issues that arise during the erection process, adapting plans as necessary to keep the project on track.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in construction management or related field is a plus.


  • 5 years of experience in steel erection, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.


  • Strong knowledge of steel construction methods, safety regulations, and heavy rigging/erecting


  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.


  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.


  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
