We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a senior modeling and simulation engineer for the Engineering, Professional, and Administrative Support Services contract, supporting the Air Force Division. JOB DETAILS LOCATION: San Antonio, TX JOB STATUS: FT TRAVEL: 5% REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Masters degree and 12 years of directly related experience, of which 5 years must be in DoD; or 15 years of directly related experience in lieu of masters degree, of which 5 years must be in DoD; or 20 years' experience in lieu of degree. Top secret clearance. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Model based systems engineering experience. Experience with modeling tools such as Rhapsody or Cameo Architecture framework experience, preferably DoDAF UML or SYSML experience. Experience with software engineering with a modeling and simulation, radar, or communications background. Experience with technical writing. Experience with working in a research environment. Experience with command and control processes. Experience with analysis, including modeling and simulation tools, such as System Tool Kit (STK), AFSIM software tool, Riverbed Modeler, or similar tools. Experience in data management; ability to compose documentation; analysis reports, and briefings. Experience coding in MATLAB, Simulink, or C++. Statistical analysis or operations research skills. RESPONSIBILITIES Appy knowledge and experience to support and conduct simulation studies to include but not limited to system and component performance, engineering trade-offs, system effectiveness, cost, and logistics. Review and model work for compliance with regulations and best practices. Develop and maintain modeling best practices Analyzing complex problems Developng relevant models and constraints to run complex analyses Review and supporting work to develop appropriate models to solve complex weapon system issues, to include networking and communications. Develop and apply advanced software and systems methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems. Analyze, evaluate, and plan methods of approach and organize means to achieve solutions of complex technical problems. Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity. Evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Provide technical consultation to technical staff or other organizations. Adapt current and outside sourced models, as needed. Employ digital engineering, digital thread, and digital twin techniques across system lifecycle.
