Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Case Manager, and with ongoing supervision, supports and training from Behavior Consultation staff and Program Clinician, the Behavior Interventionist provides individualized support services to assigned youth who have significant social, behavioral and emotional needs.
Essential Duties:
_ Administrative: _
Collect and maintain on-going data for required for treatment, school, program, agency and billing (_E.g._ ABC sheets, reports, graphs, etc.)
Maintain communication with school personnel, treatment providers, Laraway staff, and family
Provide monthly progress summaries to Program Coordinator
Complete all agency, billing and program paperwork accurately, within the identified timeframe and in accordance with federal and state mandates. Attend and participate in program staff meetings, as assigned
Attend and participate in treatment team meetings as requested
Attend and participate in educational, clinical and behavioral supervision meetings and trainings as assigned
Plan activities for school vacations as directed
_ Direct Services: _
Provide 1:1 service in school and community to identified client, in a variety of settings and/or locations
Provide direct supervision, supportive counseling, social skills building and daily living skills
Provide transportation to and from community activities, mental health appointments, and when necessary, school
Communicate with family as directed
Problem solve and manage crises
Manage the physical safety of client and others
Appropriately advocate for client
Work Independently and as a team member
_ Therapeutic/Behavioral System _
Communicate behavioral data to appropriate treatment providers
Defer complex issues to Program Coordinator
Implement behavior plans and procedures designed to address identified goals and objectives
Communicate behavioral data to appropriate education providers
Use education materials provided by school, as an opportunity to teach daily living skills
Other Duties
As Assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor's in a related field is preferred; however, Bachelor's Degree nearing completion and relevant experience with a strong staff development plan may be considered.
Successfully clearing (and maintaining clearance) Criminal Background Check.
Valid driver's license, excellent driving record, and daily access to a safe, reliable, insured vehicle.
Special Position Requirements:
Must be able to work effectively within the structure of the school keeping Laraway ethics and conduct expectations for behavior at the forefront at all times.
Ability to document student treatment and progress using a variety of methods such as Point Sheets, Progress Notes and EMR.
Ability to complete and maintain Handle with Care, Part 1 and Part 2.
Ability to complete and maintain medical Handle with Care certification.
Ability to pass and maintain First Aid & CPR certification
Minimum of 2 or 3 full-day shifts (7:45a-3:45p) per week on a regular basis are required for student continuity
Work/Physical Requirements:
Given the at-risk population served, the position requires ongoing training and preparedness in the execution of physical restraint techniques. This may require running to catch a child. The "Handle with Care" training program used articulates that individuals with back and neck limitations are likely to be hampered in the execution of the protocols and greatly increases risk to harm to self or student.
Ability to engage youth in a variety of activities ranging from art, music, cooking and physical activities such hiking and other outdoor sports.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $19.50 - $24.00 per hour
