Job description

Job Title: Associate Attorney - Insurance Coverage
Location: Washington, DC

Overview:
We are currently seeking a full-time Associate Attorney with 2 years of property/casualty insurance coverage experience to join our Insurance Coverage practice group in Washington, DC. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with practice group leadership in a collaborative environment, taking on increasingly challenging projects and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct legal research on coverage and litigation issues.
  • Analyze insurance policies and review claims facts.
  • Prepare draft coverage position letters.
  • Handle all aspects of insurance coverage litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motions, trial, and settlement.
  • Author articles on current insurance topics.

Education and Qualification Requirements:


  • Admission to the DC bar or eligibility for waiver (required).
  • Admission to the MD and/or VA bars (preferred).
  • 2 years of experience in property/casualty insurance coverage (required).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a diverse caseload while meeting deadlines.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
