If you love high-profile, challenging, and diverse work, then this position is for you! As a Database Analyst, you will support the Department of the Navy (DON) Process Improvement Office (PIO).
ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.
You must live in the national capital region (NCR) and be available to commit to work onsite at the Pentagon two (2) days per week; three (3) days per week are remote work.
In this role you will:
Identify business trends and problems through complex big data analysis.
Interpret results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently.
Design, develop, and implement the most valuable business solutions for the organization.
Prepare big data, implement data model(s) and develop database(s) to support the business solution(s).
Drive significant impact and value through the development, maintenance, and management of Qlik Sense dashboards and solution(s).
Utilize experience with Qlik Sense, SQL, and Databricks, and exhibit an eagerness to learn new technologies.
Analyze data to identify known and unknown data relationships and patterns.
Transform data sets through quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals that help inform decision making and improve the value of the DON enterprise.
Manipulate large data sets and use them to identify trends and reach meaningful conclusions to inform strategic business decisions.
Present data-driven insights and address questions from a non-technical audience.
Understand data gaps that tie data components together for visualization purposes.
Lead and direct the work of others. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Typically reports to a project leader or manager.
Effectively partner with a cross-contractor team while receiving input from a non-technical client.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile, and identify gaps, uncover unmet business needs and work with data engineering, solution architect to create a finished solution.
Collaborate with other data professionals to extract data, create reports based on their findings, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine business initiatives' success.
Work with executives and other business leaders to identify opportunities for improvement.
Transform data into insight that can help to improve the value of the DON enterprise.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of teh available knowledge management platforms in the DON and OPNAV (e.g., Flank Speed, MSFT SharePoint, MS Teams, MS Power BI) and ab ility to provide recommendaitons for knowledge management processes.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this roll, you will have:
An active Secret clearance.
A Bachelor's degree.
5+ years of experience in data analysis, data management, data science, or operations research.
Experience compiling, organizing, and cleaning data for input into dashboards or business intelligence tools.
Familiar with Qlik Script.
Additional desired experience and skills:
Master's degree in data science, operations research, computer science, IT, math or similar.
Employing Qlik Sense within the Advana/Jupiter data analytics platform.
Creating and deploying Qlik load scripts to load and build data models.
Experience with SharePoint content management.
Experience with SharePoint content management and programming languages such as SQL, R, Python for Databricks in ADVANA.
Qlik administration using the QMC.
Support staff experience at DON, OPNAV, NAVSEA, Program Executive Offices (PEOs)/Program Offices, or other Pentagon Offices.
Experience includes regular interactions with staff and senior leadership both internal and external to affiliated organization.
