401K What will your day look like? As a Systems (Operations) Engineer, you will: Design and implement comprehensive system architectures, encompassing hardware, software, virtualization, and networking for both cloud and on-premises environments.
Plan and oversee system upgrades and patch management to align with evolving business requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs and incorporate them into effective design solutions.
Implement network segmentation strategies to improve security and optimize performance.
Install and configure various operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) along with essential enterprise services.
Develop automation scripts in languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell to streamline processes and minimize manual interventions.
Set up and manage storage systems (e.g., SAN, NAS) while ensuring effective data backup procedures.
Monitor system performance and availability, conducting thorough root cause analysis to resolve issues proactively.
Safeguard systems against cybersecurity threats by implementing firewalls, managing VPNs, and deploying intrusion detection and prevention systems.
Provide support for enterprise cloud applications and infrastructure through automated configuration management and infrastructure-as-code practices.
Manage firewalls, encryption protocols, and antivirus software to secure systems and maintain compliance with industry standards.
Document the current state of the environment, perform gap analyses, and produce detailed recommendations and options for improvement.
Contribute as an individual while mentoring junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Engineer solutions focused on continuous improvement in service delivery and operational efficiency.
Provide regular status updates and lead cross-training sessions to promote team collaboration and knowledge sharing. You will be a good fit as a Systems (Operations) Engineer if you have: Required Qualifications:
Eligible to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance.
Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field, or a bachelor's in a non-IT field with at least 2 years of relevant IT experience.
5+ years of overall experience in IT roles.
3+ years of experience in cloud solution architecture, design, development, and implementation.
3+ years working with one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
3+ years of experience using Git source control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
3+ years in systems development within an Agile framework.
3+ years of experience scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
3+ years of experience installing, configuring, and optimizing both Windows and Linux operating systems.
3+ years managing patching processes and supporting vulnerability management.
Experience across multiple cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP. Preferred Qualifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate
Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator - Associate
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on collaboration and interpersonal effectiveness.
Proven experience in documenting the current state of environments, conducting gap analyses, and creating comprehensive reports with options and recommendations.
Proficient in implementing Docker containers and leveraging orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
