We offer bonus compensation plans that demonstrate you being appreciated for working Responsibilities: Sponsor is seeking an experienced operational systems engineer. The candidate will be part of a dynamic team responsible for maintaining and enhancing various applications. The individual shall manage the data ingestion pipeline to include the design and implementation of cross domain data feeds to support the ingestion of data. The position will be responsible for maintaining, scheduling, executing software and hardware upgrades, patches and reconfigurations, identifying and troubleshooting hardware and software issues with workstations and servers, and continuous system monitoring. The candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to create and maintain detailed documentation, be willing to partake in group collaboration/project planning, and effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels within the organization. The candidate shall provide support for internal systems and networks. Support under this task focuses on designing, engineering, and implementation of complex networks that require application of rigorous protocols. • Building a DevOps pipeline using AWS, Azure, Google technologies, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD and tools like Ansible and Terraform. • Building and deploying infrastructure using Automation tools such as Linux scripting, Python, and PowerShell. • Using your knowledge of APIs to design RESTful services, and integrate them with existing data providers using JSON or XML as needed. • Oral and written communication skills providing design, standard operating procedures, and security documentation. • Willingness to learn new technologies and help clients with their technical issues before escalating to senior staff. • Provide emergency 24x7 on-call support on a rotation basis. Qualifications: Required: • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience. • Active TS/SCI with required clearance. • 7+ years of experience working in automating installation, monitoring and O&M tasks using Linux scripting or Python. • Experience working with Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes. • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, Google or OpenStack. • Experience with Cron, iptables, permissions. • Experience with OpenVPN, SELinux, Network File System (NFS) and Common Internet File System (CIFS). • Strong foundation in Linux. • Knowledge of web services, API, REST and RPC. • Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks. • Database experience, including knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, and related data stores such as Postgres. • Extensive experience with open-source technology, software development and system engineering. • Experience with VMware technologies, to include vSphere 7/8, VSAN, and specifically VMware Horizon View Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills needed to work with partners, engineering, and vendors. • Quick learner, detail oriented, demonstrable thoroughness and strong ownership of work. • Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment (high sense of urgency.) • Good communication and presentation skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical customers. Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
