Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph We are seeking a dedicated Flight Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services in Chantilly, VA, supporting the integration and operation of GEOINT mission systems. As the trusted technical advisor, you will assist in planning and overseeing the integration of GEOINT satellites and mission capabilities to support national intelligence needs. This role involves providing technical assessments, analysis, and recommendations, while collaborating closely with government personnel and stakeholders to ensure mission success. Key Responsibilities: • Technical Advisory for GEOINT Systems: Act as the government's technical advisor for GEOINT mission systems, covering all aspects from spacecraft bus and payloads to command, control, and processing systems. Support the identification of mission needs, operational concepts, and requirements to guide acquisition and budget planning effectively. • Integration and Cross-Systems Analysis: Assess integration activities across technical, resource, and schedule dependencies, providing objective analysis and recommendations to government managers. Deliver ground truth technical assessments during project reviews, milestones, and decision gates, identifying risks, issues, and opportunities and recommending mitigations. • Systems Engineering and Analysis Support: Assist in systems engineering and integration studies, process analysis, and project management assessments, offering recommendations and taking proactive steps as needed. Contribute to the development and assessment of system Concept of Operations, Requirements Documents, Test Plans, Statements of Work, and Systems Engineering Plans. • Documentation and Acquisition Support: Support staff work requirements for the government, including action items, weekly reports, and contributions to acquisitions and source selections. Represent the government's interests and collaborate with stakeholders to provide balanced analysis and strategic recommendations. • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work proactively with government personnel and contractors across multiple sites and organizational levels, building consensus and addressing complex issues with actionable insights. Qualifications: Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph is required. Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience. Strong technical knowledge of spacecraft systems, including bus, payload, subsystems (e.g., attitude control, propulsion), ground communications, mission data processing, mission planning, and command/control systems. Proficiency in orbital mechanics and related analytical tools. Experience with GEOINT mission systems (ground and space) and familiarity with mission readiness processes and control gates. Self-motivated and proactive problem-solver who can define solutions for broad and abstract topics. Excellent communication skills (written/verbal), with a track record of collaboration, consensus-building, and influencing multiple stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills and personal judgment, with the ability to interact confidently with senior government executives. Familiarity with Digital Engineering/Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile development, and cloud technologies. • Desired: Real-time operations experience as a spacecraft operator, spacecraft engineer, or ground systems operator, with knowledge of space operations and policies. This is a full-time, onsite position in Chantilly, VA, working closely with government teams and stakeholders to advance GEOINT mission capabilities. The role requires a collaborative, proactive approach to complex problem-solving and mission support.
